Hello everyone!
We are back from a wonderful Thanksgiving trip. We went to Seabrook Island, SC to see about 6 million people on my Happy's side of the family. We got down there on Wednesday night just in time for dinner. After my long, quiet car ride I was all of a sudden expected to hug a gaggle of strangers. Um, pass. I clung to my Mom for about 10 minutes before deciding these people looked pretty fun so I insisted she put me down so I could mingle. My cousins were all a bit older but I had no second thoughts about following them around, yelling and getting in the mix. I stayed up til almost 9:30 on the first night, which sort of became the norm for our vacation. (Back to 7:30 now that we are in "real life" again. Boo.) Happy and Umpy even volunteered to get up with me every morning so Mom and Dad could sleep late. But since I wasn't going to bed til 9:30, I was sleeping til almost 8. And Mom says it's physically impossible for her to sleep late anymore. Even with magic pills. Whatever that means.
The next day was Thanksgiving. We went to the park with Happy, Umpy, Margot & Will. I had quite the audience for my sliding, swinging and running around. I ate it up. We spent the rest of the day cooking and hanging out before meeting up with the rest of the family for dinner. Mom said I completely botched my Thanksgiving by only eating rolls but I don't care. There was a big family golf tournament on Friday, but Mom didn't play since someone needs to hang out with me (HA! Like she'd play anyways!) Our house was on the golf course and I saw Dad go by in the cart so we went out to say hello. Apparently you cannot scream "DADDY!!!!" while other players about to swing. They got to do a do-over, so all is well. We had a big cookout at the beach on Friday night, but Mom, Dad and I didn't stay too long. They didn't like me eating/throwing sand nor my fascination with the bonfire.
Saturday we went to Kiawah Island to go to the Nature Center to see turtles, snakes, etc. This was pretty cool but it was getting close to nap time and I was hungry so I wasn't as enthusiastic as I could have been. There was even a stuffed real bobcat that I was sure to never really take my eye off. Just in case he decided to come back to life. Later that day we went to see Santa (H*LL NO! It's going to be awhile til I get on board with him) and get some ice cream.
I was sad to leave my family, but luckily Christmas is coming soon.
Love,
L.E.R.
