Four Months!

Hello followers!

As you can see, I turned four months old this week! Even though I could probably fit most four month olds in my pocket.

I went to the doctor this week, and here is the latest. I weigh 16.7 lbs. That puts me in the 95th percentile. I am 26.5 inches tall, 97th percentile, though the doctor did keep saying "off the charts" when talking about my height and showing Mom and Dad on the graph. And lastly, but not surprisingly, my big ol' noggin was in the 95th percentile. I think we all know where that came from...

So I am definitely not petite. Mom and Dad keep making weird grunt noises when they pick up my carrier. They should be thanking me! Giving those 2 lazies some arm muscle definition they were sorely lacking. Mom asked Dr. Weiss how much I should be eating per day. He basically said "ha! next question" and told her she was doing A-Ok. But I wasn't really listening, I was too busy shimmy-ing around on the crinkily paper on the exam table, ripping it apart and trying to eat it.

Oh, and I got 2 shots. Didn't really feel them though cause they were in my thighs. And I got another dose of medicine in my mouth, which i ended up loving. I pretended it was a snack and it totally took my mind off the needles that had just been in my thunderthighs. All in all, a good trip. Plus I got to play hooky from school for a little bit. Mom and Dad dropped me off, my classmates hadn't changed much. Still drooling and doing a bunch of nothing. I will try not to judge them too much in this blog in the event I do decide to become friends with any of them.

And if they cross me, I will just sit on them. I OWN the Bunnies class.

Ok - gotta take a nap before lunch. Call me if you need me. Actually, don't. Just call my mom. I can't even talk yet! Geez.

Love,

Landon

No, I do not live in a shopping cart...

But I do like going shopping with Mom! She was whining about how much room I take up in the cart, but it's probably safer for both of us. I won't fall out and she can't buy too much crap.

Sorry I have been out of touch all week! Mom wasn't feeling well last week - she claimed it was allergies but Dad thinks she had too much fun with her girlfriends while I was at Grammy and Poppy's. I don't know what that means, but she did seem a little slower than usual...

I am back to not sleeping through the night. NOT because I don't want to, but I am just so good at rolling over onto my stomach, I do it in my sleep now. Then I wake up on my stomach and that is not where I want to be. So I have to yell for help around 2:30. Then I am re-positioned and life goes on. I don't think any of us are fans of this new developement, but I don't mean to do it! I just need to learn how to get off my tummy...working on it. Patience people!

We had a good weekend. We went over to Paige & Erin's on Saturday to watch football. It was really fun, Beau seems to be warming up to being my friend. I WILL make this happen! We made eye contact last night, he walked by my jumperoo, stopped and looked at me, pacie in mouth. I looked back, pacie in mouth. Step one to being best friends...

I am going to the doctor on Wednesday for my 4 month check up. Everyone seems to wants to place bets on my weight - making jokes and then squeezing my things. HA HA everyone, hilarious. Jerks. But I will update you after the appointment...

Ok, back to waiting for Mom to pick me up from school...guess I will be the last kid picked up, again. (hear that MOM??!!)

toodles,

Landon

WTF?

Sorry for the profanity Dad. But SERIOUSLY!?!?

Charley here. Remember me people? Probably not. All anyone cares about is the baby. I just happened to check MY blog and see THIS picture?? And these posts that are not from me. First she takes over my house. Then she takes over my family. Now my blog??

That's it. I am packing my bag and I am going to run away to the deck. That will show them.

So goodbye. I am not blogging while I am a runaway since that defeats the purpose. (But if I am not back by about 2 pm today, someone please call my parents because I am probably lonely, scared, hungry and ready for a hug. Thanks!)

Love (still, even though I am mad),

Charley

(on the back deck, in case anyone is looking for me)

I am on a roll...

Landon here again...(shhhh...nobody tell Charley this is really my blog now!)

I am continuing my streak of firsts this week! Last night marked my first REAL sleep through the night experience. I've always had a few good stretches a night, but I usually find myself starving at some point and have to wake up Mom. But not last night! Dad took me upstairs to give me a bottle at 8 p.m. last night. I was asleep by 8:30. I did not make a peep til 6 a.m. this morning! Mom said she even had to check on me at 5 to make sure I was still breathing. Just tired woman! Let me be!

Dad is trying to take all the credit for it since he was the one who gave me the bottle last night. (Where was mom? Downstairs watching "The Vampire Diaries" with her friend Amanda. Apparently she is 14 years old. What 32 year old still watches shows on the CW??). While I did enjoy the bottle from Dad, Mom thinks I would probably take a bottle from Casey Anthony as long as I am getting food. And yes, I know who Casey Anthony is. I was brought home from the hospital while her trial was going on and Mom and Dad were obsessed with watching it. Gee thanks. It went like this:

Mom: Oh hi Landon, glad you are here. Get cozy on the couch with me so we can watch a story about a mom killing her baby girl.

Me: Errrrr...great. So excited to be here...(Holy %*(@#$*%@! Put me back in the tummy! What is this place??)

Anywho, glad when that was over. Can you believe she got off??!! But that's another post for another time.

Back to my big night. So I woke up at 6, obviously STARVING. Mom fed me and then I took another snooze til Dad woke me up for school at 8 this morning. The above picture is right before I was woken up. Amen it's the weekend. Girl needs to sleep in a little bit! OH! Speaking of the weekend - I am going to have a sleepover at Grammy & Poppy's Saturday night with Dad! SO EXCITED! I will let you know all about it next week.

Gotta go - they frown on blogging in the nursery at school. (Just jealous...)

Love,

Landon

Well, I'm exhausted....

Monday was HUGE! (By the way, this is Landon again. Sorry Charley, swear I will give the blog back soon.)

Back to me and my Monday. I achieved 2 feats I have been struggling with for ages! The first I have been working on since literally the first hour of my life. I have been putting my hand to my face/mouth trying to make something work. And FINALLY! I found my thumb and decided it was the perfect size. A built in pacifier that I can't throw on the floor and Charley can't steal. So thumb sucking: check.

Feat number 2. This has only been bothering me for a couple weeks. I could throw my weight from side to side but couldn't QUITE get all the way over to my tummy. And I finally did it! I was just lying in my crib at school, being all quiet while the other babies demanded attention in all the obvious juvenile ways. So I just rolled over and laid there til someone noticed. And they sure did! They were so excited to tell Mom about it when she picked me up yesterday. I haven't shown my parents this trick yet. Even though they put me on a blanket last night and pretty much stared at me for 2 hours, begging me to do it again. I will do it again when I damn (oops!) well please. (Plus I am kinda tired from the first one!).

Here's picture of the thumb sucking. Apparently the teachers do not have cameras like my parents so they did not get a pic of me on my tummy. So you'll just have to take my word for it.

OH. And I had my first diaper blowout at school yesterday. Probably from all the rolling around. Good thing it wasn't my favorite outfit cause Dad tossed the dirty one when we got home. I am starting to catch on to his ways...

Introducing....ME!

Well Hello There.

My sister, Charley, told me I should introduce myself to her blog followers. I don’t know what a blog is, but she’s going to help me write this.

So hello everyone! I am Landon Elise Roche. I have been here for 104 days. But who’s counting? I would say about 102 have been good days, the other 2 I was just moody and not getting my way. But I fixed that real quick. Now it’s all about me (bahahahaha Charley!). I’ve spent the summer like a middle aged man, getting chunky and losing hair. But it’s been a great summer too! I got to meet my mom and dad, and I have spent lots of time with Happy, Umpy, Grammy, Poppy, Aunt Sarah, Aunt Erin, Aunt Ellie, Aunt Margot, Uncle Tim, Uncle Sam, Uncle Paige and my cousin Beau (whew! Am I forgetting anyone? Oh yeah! SOON-to-be Uncle Will). Plus lots of mom and dad’s friends. I love when visitors stop by with presents. Otherwise I’d just as soon keep napping and pooping my pants, but I’ve been told that’s not polite. So much to learn...

But let’s get back to ME! Here are a few of my favorite things, so far (obviously, this is subject to change as I know about a much as a paper plate, so give me some time).

Favorite time of day: Waking up! Usually this is around 7:45 on weekdays. I get to sleep in a little longer on the weekend. But I love to wake up and remember where I am and see my favorite people again. Oh and meal times.
Favorite food: Errrr. This is dumb. I’ve tried one thing. But I clearly love it. (Hello 97th percentile!!)
Favorite place: I’m pretty happy to be anywhere I can look around, but I really like school. Way more to look at than at home, where it’s just Dad pacing, Mom brushing her hair and Charley sniffing my butt. But I like it there too.
Favorite TV show: Tell Dad it’s NOT Fox Business! Turn on anything else please!
Favorite Song: Well, other than the song my mobile plays, and Dad incessantly (big word for a baby!) playing Toby Keith, I really don’t know much else. Not super impressed with either of those at the moment though. So I sing my own songs to myself. Which mom and dad seem to think is HI-LARIOUS. Whatevs.
Favorite Activity: Pooping, talking to myself, eating my hand, playing with my feet, grabbing, drooling. Silently judging the other kids in my class...
Favorite Person: Is this a trick question? I need to stay in everyone’s good graces, so let’s just go with Dr. Graham. He brought me into this world and out of mom’s tummy. And praise Jesus for that cause it was getting really crowded in there. And totally boring.
Favorite moment of the summer: I can’t pick just one. Every day has been wonderful and a new adventure (even though I don’t have the most adventurous parents!). I am so excited to be here everyone! Watch out!

Ok gotta go. It’s time to eat or nap. Big decisions, big decisions...It’s tough being Landon. But I will keep you all posted. Thanks for letting me borrow your blog Charley. Let’s have a lot of Best Day Evers together.

I love you all!

L.E.R.
